There are all kinds of students in a classroom—shy, aggressive, naughty, etc. Teachers play a key role in managing and guiding them. Teachers must be skilled to deal with them effectively. Classroom management is technique that each teacher should know to tackle their students well.  Here are a few guidelines that will help teachers play an effective role:

  • Discipline should always be maintained for effective learning process. Students must be aware of rules and regulations that they must follow. Maintain balance between freedom and discipline in the class.


  • Teachers must have a pleasant disposition and must be friendly. This will encourage students to share their problems with them.


  • It is important to treat students with respect and dignity to earn respect. Teachers must not be partial and treat all students with equality.


  • Students must be rewarded and appreciated on their achievements so that they are motivated. Words of appreciation given by teachers can do wonders.


  • Special attention must be given to weak students. Teachers must try to understand the reasons for their behavior and guide them accordingly.


  • Help students solve disputes and develop healthy friendships. Encourage them to help each other in making notes and understanding difficult concepts.


  • Give meaningful assignments and project work and reasonable time to complete them. Guide students to do assignments and project work well.


  • Evaluate the progress of students by conducting class tests. Give them regular feedback on how they can improve their weak areas.


  • Give students tips on how to prepare well for exams. Inform them about important topics that they really need to prepare well.
