Successful people are those who learn to value time. Time Management is a set of related skills that help you use your time in the most effective way to achieve your goals. Student life is the best time to learn time management and become disciplined. It is true that some people are good at time management than others but managing time efficiently can also be learnt. By managing their time well, students can achieve good grades and can get time for extra-curricular activities as well. So if you are a student, this article gives some time management pointers for you:

  • Plan well & eliminate time wasters: Planning the day/week well is foremost. Make a list of tasks that you need to do and estimate the time for each task. Give suitable time for each task and while doing so keep some time for relaxation as well. Make sure that you eliminate time wasters and are disciplined. Time management for students requires that they balance their responsibilities and interests between learning, socializing, and sports.

  • Prioritize your tasks: Do tasks according to priority and devote maximum time towards academics. Set long term and short term goals for maximum benefit but make sure that your goals are reasonable. Be organized in what you do, organize your workplace, your books, and all learning material well. Don’t waste your time finding things when you need them. Always plan ahead and don’t keep things for last minute.

  • Early risers: To make sure you are able to concentrate well and have time for everything, you must wake up early. It will give you loads of time for your activities. Morning time is best to study when there is no distraction and noise. To rise early, you must sleep early as well.

  • More pointers: Write instructions for yourself and put them in your room so that you are constantly reminded of your to-dos. To keep yourself motivated and positive, put posters with inspiring quotes. Spend some time to pray and meditate that will give you mental peace. Exercise and take part in sports to beat stress. Follow healthy eating habits. Be a good student -- listen attentively, be punctual, and make notes regularly. If any task comes in between your planned time table then rearrange your schedule accordingly. Have an appropriate study environment and study regularly without waiting for exam time.
